Variants

Variants are an Enterprise feature.

Variants let you tailor the same Trust Center for different audiences without creating separate portals. You can define a visitor-facing filter, such as Product, Region, or Industry, then add options such as Cloud, EU, or Financial Services.

Open in the Admin Center: /variants

Create a variant: /variants/new

When a visitor chooses a variant option in the Trust Center, assigned content is filtered to match that selection.

What You Can Assign

You can assign variant options to:

  • Documents
  • Certifications
  • Knowledge base entries
  • Subprocessors
  • Trusted By entries
  • Updates
  • Custom tabs

System tabs cannot have variant assignments.

Manage Assignments

If assignable variants exist, the variant assignment card appears in the right sidebar on supported create and detail pages. For content that has translations, manage assignments in the default locale. The same assignments apply to all translations of that content.

When you change the selected options and save, the new selection replaces the current assignments. Clear all selected options and save to remove all assignments. If you save other changes without changing the variant selection, Admin Center omits the assignment update and keeps existing assignments, including assignments to disabled options. If a save fails, the editor keeps your unsaved variant selection so you can try again.

How Visitors See Variants

Enabled variants appear as switchers near the top of the Trust Center. Visitors can choose one option per variant, or keep All for that variant.

The Trust Center only uses enabled variants and enabled options for visitor filtering. Disabled variants and options are hidden from the visitor switcher.

If no valid variant option is active, all content that the visitor can otherwise view is shown. When one or more valid options are active, content must have the selected option for every active variant. Content without assignments does not match an active filter. Setting one switcher to All removes that variant from the match, but the other active variant selections still apply.

For custom tabs, a nonmatching assignment hides both the tab title and its panel. System tabs are not filtered by custom tab assignments, but their normal content, access, and visibility rules still apply.

Variant filtering controls display only. It does not give a visitor access to restricted content.

Locales

Variant names and option labels can be translated.

Disabled Variants

Disabling a variant removes its switcher from the Trust Center. Existing content assignments are kept in Admin Center, but they no longer affect what visitors can filter until the variant is enabled again.
